Auto in the afternoon!

When you walk around the roads and streets of India, adding to its many contrasts you will see this sight, a very prominent sight.

A number of vehicles that has gone long past its prime will be battling it out amongst the latest Korean and Japanese automobiles coughing, blacking out the roads.

Also you would see a number of not so old vehicles abandoned in some cross road. If you enquire to the people in the streets about why the vehicle is abandoned, they will have a story to tell. All vehicles have a story of their own. Just like how my brother’s friend’s Honda City was hidden far from Chennai, not being able to re-pay the loan with which it was purchased.

But there was no one to tell me the story of this little vehicle. It was abandoned and abandoned in no man’s land. One could imagine how terrible it would be to be abandoned with no one to tell the world your story.

Nevertheless, this abandoned auto was amazingly photogenic and I was having a good time shooting it.

Valentines Day gives me range!

Coinciding with my resolution of resurrecting Light Exhibits was Valentines Day.

Valentines Day is one of those days when you feel happy to be in love. My normally unhampered happiness was a little high on magnitude on the day and it increased manifolds as the beloved unfolded my Valentine’s Day gift.

It was an 80mm-300mm sigma lens. Though it wasn’t a surprise, I was thrilled to have an 80mm-300mm in my hand. Many a times I have been frustrated (Mostly during ultimate matches) with the range of my default D40 kit lens (18mm-52mm). The new lens gives me a good range to shoot ultimate matches and other things besides and also gives me a good reason to be at the Kodai Fly Baba!

But, Kodai Fly Baba is far, far away in time and I wanted to shoot right away. Why not The Moon? Was the thought! And these photographs were the results.

Thanks to the beloved for the god awesome gift! Dedicating the snap to her and I think I can also write a song...

"Love... not just in the air, it is everywhere.
Filling up space and making a maze!
As The Lord sat there and Sang ever since the Big Bang"

Grr... I give up!

Surviving Time!

I’ve wanted to make a blog post for a long while now and in the process I’ve missed out posting some of the total made for blog events like me hitting a marwadi for a six in the first ball of the first over of a match!

Another thing I noticed about my blog is that, I don’t post long, carefully written posts anymore.

Is Light Exhibits coming to its end? I would like not to think so... but I don’t want to convince myself that it is not. But if the truth is that it is going down the drain, I think it is time I do whatever I can to resurrect it.

Light Exhibits has withstood the test of time. Along with Light Exhibits, I have created and deleted several blogs but Light Exhibits was there all the time ever since I switched to blogger. I started it as an effort to make some money while I was in college but it has come a log way from there and has a long way to go.

I don’t want it to go Obsolete for it is not just a blog!

This was shot during a recent trip to a village in TamilNadu called sattiyakudi. The farmers there still do farming. They did not leave their lands fancying a college degree! I can see some hope there!

More photos to follow.

Ashes and Snow

Recently Rasole linked me to Ashes and Snow, I visited the link the next morning and the visit put me in a trance. I was glued to the computer screen and something happened to me! I don't know what!

This image was shot during my whitefield cycling trip. A good old snap! I think, I would be blogging a lot more from here on.

In the mean time, I think all of you should visit ashes and snow!
